Whether you’ve known Nancy and me for twenty years, or are new to Tahoe Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus, I imagine you’ve seen the passion this group has for the music we so proudly create for your enjoyment.
You, dear listeners, enable and energize us to play this old-dead-guy music that we all love so much. But you are also the key to Tahoe Philharmonic’s next twenty years!
That’s why I’m especially pleased to introduce governing board member Valerie Forte—she puts the philanthropy in the Philharmonic! Valerie brings to us a deep connection to the Tahoe community, along with years of involvement with organizations devoted to the arts and to serving our neighbors. She has served on the Executive Boards of the Squaw Valley Institute and Tahoe Arts Center and volunteered with Tahoe Forest Hospice.
Valerie is now bringing that same community spirit, energy, and creativity to Tahoe Philharmonic, helping us build the support that will carry this orchestra and chorus into its next twenty years—and beyond. We are tremendously grateful to have her in our corner.
A Note From Valerie
Hello, friends,
For nearly ten years, I’ve had the pleasure of knowing James and following the remarkable musicians he brings together. I’ve watched his passion for music, and for sharing that music with our community, come to life again and again on the concert stage. Over the years, I’ve become not only a fan, but a proud supporter of what James, Nancy, and these talented musicians have created.
That’s why I’m so pleased to take on a new role with the Tahoe Philharmonic, helping lead our fundraising efforts and build an even stronger culture of philanthropy around this organization.
For me, philanthropy is about much more than raising money. It’s about bringing people together around something they value and giving them an opportunity to help it flourish. Whether you’ve been part of the Tahoe Philharmonic family for years or have only recently discovered us, I hope you’ll feel that you have a place in what we are building.
Tahoe Philharmonic is entering an exciting new chapter. We want to continue bringing exceptional live orchestral and choral music to our communities, create meaningful opportunities for our musicians, welcome new audiences, and build the financial foundation that will allow this organization to thrive for many years to come.
